Digital Skills and Education in Uganda

Digital skills and education are pivotal for Uganda’s development, yet significant barriers hinder progress. While strides have been made in integrating technology into education, gaps in infrastructure, affordability, and digital literacy persist, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Many educators lack the training to effectively use technology, and economic challenges prevent widespread access to devices and internet connectivity, deepening inequities. However, Uganda’s growing youth population and supportive government policies present immense opportunities to bridge the digital divide. By investing in infrastructure, affordable technology, teacher training, and inclusive community programs, Uganda can empower its population with the skills needed to thrive in a tech-driven global economy, fostering innovation and equitable growth
