Partnered with the Ministry of Health and Makerere University to execute a complex project aimed at enhancing public health strategies for containing the spread of COVID-19. The initiative focused on creating a sophisticated tracking system with multiple objectives: identifying key requirements for logging close contact histories; designing a system that could trace these contacts while maintaining strict user privacy; developing an early warning feature to alert users if they’ve been in proximity to a COVID-19 positive individual; implementing a working prototype of the system; and conducting rigorous tests for validation. This comprehensive workstream not only equipped the Ministry of Health and Makerere University with a robust tool for real-time contact tracing and alerts, but it also did so in a manner that prioritized user privacy and data security.
