Young Disaster Resilience Leadership (YDRL)

The program was designed to systematically strengthen the capacity of refugee and non-refugee adolescents living in refugee hosting districts in Uganda, The George Washington University’s  Initiative for Disaster and Fragility Resilience (IDFR) along with THINKIT employed a contextualized Young Disaster Resilience Leadership (yDRL) program that will help young people address the conflict and disaster challenges they face in their school and home communities and find adaptive solutions while facing the local manifestations of prejudices, stereotypes, and cultural expectations regarding age, gender, race, ethnicity, migrant status, physical ability, and socioeconomic class, among others.
